Publication in Physical Review B

D. Radić published a paper “DC spin generation by junctions with AC driven spin-orbit interaction” in the journal Physical Review B. This research was done in collaboration with the ASG “Spin-active electric weak links” group with the research topic of generating the spin current utilizing the spin-orbit-sctive nanojunction.

Publication in Physical Review B

A.M. Kadigrobov, D. Radić and A. Bjeliš published a paper “Density wave and topological reconstruction of an isotropic two-dimensional electron band in external magnetic field” in the journal Physical Review B. This continuation of research on the effects of topological reconstruction of the Fermi surface, now under a strong external magnetic field, opens a possible insight into an onset of charge density waves observed in many compounds with convex and mostly isotropic Fermi surfaces (HiTC cuprates, intercalated graphene etc).

Publication in Low Temperature Physics

A paper “Coulomb effects on thermally induced shuttling of spin-polarized electrons” was published in the journal Low Temperature Physics. Another paper in the field of NEMS presenting a joint research within the ASG “Spin-active electric weak links” group.

Publication in Physical Review B

D. Radić published a paper “Coulomb-promoted spintromechanics in magnetic shuttle devices” in the journal Physical Review B. This research was done in collaboration with the ASG “Spin-active electric weak links” group focused in particular to the influence of the Coulomb blockade (electron-electron interactions), i.e. electron parity, on the spin-active shuttle NEMS nanomechanics.

Work meeting with section Department of Physics University of Zagreb

Work meeting with section of the ASG collaboration 22.-29.6.2019. on Dept. of Physics UniZg. The research topic was coupling of nanomechanics to coherent tunneling of Cooper pairs in the NEMS and building of entangled Cooper pair box states with mechanical coherent states. The guesting scientists were Leonid Gorelik from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, Hee-Chul Park and Sangjun Choi from IBS, Korea and Nojoon Myoung from Chosun University, Korea.

Emil Tafra visited Goucher College

Emil Tafra visited Goucher College, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, from February 25th to March 1st 2019, for a work meeting with Nina Marković and her coworkers. During the meeting, they also visited clean rooms at Singh Center for Nanotechnology, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Petra Grozić became a PhD student

Petra Grozić, mag.phys.educ. formally became a PhD student employed on this project from 1. March 2019. within the framework of HRZZ project “Projekt razvoja karijera mladih istraživača – izobrazba novih doktora znanosti”. Her research area will be the role of topological reconstruction of electron band and synthetic magnetic fields on the ground state, collective and transport effects in the system with application to NEMS.
